"Book The Loft at 702 Lakeview now, but pay attention to this caveat. You may never want to leave. Most treehouses, the ones we imagined as kids, are a fantasy. Not this one. It is a real dream. Sitting in the woods literally amid tree tops it combines nature’s “feel” for Maine but with elegance of a designer’s trained eye for detail and exquisite quality. Now, here’s the warning. I booked it for a week in fall and stayed for six months. Everything you need is there. No detail has been left to imagination. Cook in the spacious kitchen loaded with every utensil you need. Where else would you find a milk frother? Gaze out the windows that literally frame the forest outside as if you are looking at a painting or photograph. Some mornings you may not want to get out of bed as you gaze out the expansive windows at the trees leading to the lake. Sit by the warmth of the best wood stove I’ve ever stoked. Immerse and lose yourself in the abundant fragrance of beauty as you sip coffee at sunrise in the morning or a cocktail at night from the deck as the sun descends in a rainbow sky. The lake- Lucerne- one of Maine’s most beautiful, is but a stone’s throw away. It is enchanting in all seasons. And unlike your backyard treehouse you can stand up in this one and marvel at its openness and 14-foot ceilings. One of a kind. Country chic is an understatement."

PEACEFUL LOFT RETREAT
"This newly built loft is located in a wooded area across the street from beautiful Phillips Lake. It is a great setting to relax and enjoy the scenery and the quiet makes it an easy place to come if you need to get away to write or get other work done. Leanne, who lives across the street, greeted us in person on the day we arrived to give us a tour of the space. She is the best host. She is friendly, responsive to questions, and eager that guests enjoy the property and their stay. We were pleasantly surprised, for instance, by the complimentary syrup, jelly, and mustard from Maine that Leanne left for us. The guest book she prepared will acquaint you with how to use all of the loft’s wonderful amenities - including the woodstove! The space is beautiful and comfortable with a modern and open feel. It is extremely clean. You will not want for anything. The open kitchen is extremely well-supplied even having a Nespresso machine and milk steamer for you to use! Up-to-date technology controls many of the home’s features, but our favorite was the large shower with two shower heads, very good water pressure, and a bench. Each morning, we enjoyed the view, the sun, and the sounds of birds from the upper balcony. The outdoor space and rock garden come with a grill and fire pit you can enjoy in the evenings. Guests also have access to the lake across the street on Leanne’s property. If you are looking for a relaxing stay in an incredibly comfortable space, with a modern appeal, this is your place. We would highly recommend a stay at the loft to anyone. We hope to return one day!"

MORE BEAUTIFUL IN-PERSON
"My husband and I stayed at The Loft for 2 weeks while visiting family. I knew from the pictures that it is a beautiful space. Well, it is even more beautiful in person. The loft is so comfortable and spacious. A comfortable king-sized bed is important to us and this bed is very comfortable. The loft is very well appointed with beautiful and comfortable furnishings and the kitchen is well stocked. Since we were staying during the months of November and December the weather was chilly. Having a wood-burning fireplace and heated garage were nice features. Leanne is very attentive host and very quick to respond with anything you may need. We will definitely be staying at The Loft again! Thanks again for a great stay"

"This is probably my favorite vacation rental ever! The house is absolutely gorgeous, Phillips Lake and the surrounding area are beautiful, the location is convenient to the coast, Ellsworth, and Bangor, and Leanne, the host, is super helpful and friendly. We were in the area to visit with family so didn't get a chance to take advantage of the kayak or some of the nearby trails - we will have to return!"

ENJOYED MANY CAMPFIRES AT NIGHT
"We had a wonderful relaxing stay at the loft. The accommodations were comfortable and it was a very peaceful location. The loft is tastefully decorated, the kitchen is stocked and we enjoyed the libations left by other guests. The outdoor seating area was relaxing and very private so we enjoyed many campfires at night. We had access to our own dock and kayak on the lake across the street. My husband had to work a couple afternoons, while I spent time reading and enjoying the lake. There is a desk and fast wifi so he was able to work right from the loft. Upon leaving we made sure to leave some libations for the next guest to enjoy!"

"The Loft is one of the most creatively and masterfully designed Airbnbs I have ever stayed in. It has everything a couple needs to have a very comfortable stay in the Maine woods. The Loft is off the beaten and path, so be prepared to drive at least 20 minutes to get any food, but it is very quiet and private. This is a great place to stay in the winter because the whole house is on a generator if the power goes out. Leanne was a lovely host. My boyfriend and I are definitely interested in staying at The Loft again."

"It is a privilege to experience the best that Maine has to offer in this extraordinary space with this exceptional host. The Loft at 702 Lakeview has it all. Nestled snugly in the trees with easy access to a beautiful lake (swimming
and kayak just across the camp road). Outdoor adventures abound (trails on the property and Acadia a short drive away), with the amenities of a designer apartment at your fingertips (an expansive kitchen with four different coffee makers, a bean grinder, and a milk frother, for example). Friendly and gracious people at every turn with all the peace and privacy you could want (the host, Leanne, is just across the road and quick to respond to any issue, but she is adamant that nothing disturb your stay). I have been to this amazing retreat several times and I always look forward to the day I will return. The worst thing about The Loft is ever having to leave at all."

CONJURES SCANDANAVIAN AESTHETIC
"Just across the road from direct access to Phillips Lake via dock owned by the owner of the VRBO property, this house makes an immediate and stylish impression. Recently built in what this non-expert would call a contemporary style, the house is nestled in the woods with ample parking and a pollinator garden out front. Inside, it is spacious with an open floor plan and contemporary decor that conjures Scandinavian aesthetic (to this inexperienced eye). The appliances and climate control systems are up to date and work perfectly. The porch overlooking the front of the house faces east, making it a wonderful place to enjoy the evening air. We had friends visit us during our stay and they also raved about the house and the lake. My wife and I love open floor plans and we get along very well with each other. If you find yourself in a tense situation with your co-resident, there's a spacious bathroom with a larger shower one of you can skull away to. Bottom line: we would definitely stay at The Loft when we are in the area.
